I CAN PRETTY MUCH ASSURE YOU THAT EVEN MARY GAVE BIRTH TO JESUS IN A SQUATTING, STANDING, OR SITTING UPRIGHT POSITION
Why? Because it was the NORMAL way every mother in every culture WORLDWIDE gave birth for hundreds of thousands of years until some idiot in the United States of America decided that horizontal births would be better....and western medicine is STILL giving you the false impression that horizontal births are the way it should be done.
Think of it LOGICALLY...the NATURAL position to give birth is a mother's vertical squatting (not horizontal laying on her back or belly) so that gravity assists the birthing process. It might sound novel, but it is the way ALL of humanity has given birth for hundreds of thousands of years and most indigenous women still do today.
Horizontal births require the mother to be laid up for a period of days rest after delivery (why? because most likely this unnatural position has put stress on the mother's spine and other areas) - whereas the traditional vertical squatting childbirth mothers can continue about their normal chores within minutes of birth as though they had just defecated after a bout of severe constipation - nothing more debilitating than that...so tell me again - of the 'great benefits to modern techniques'?
In my own life I have witnessed pregnant indigenous women go into a room, make no loud noises only soft moans, and WALK back out less than an hour later holding their suckling baby to their breast, WITH NO BACK PAIN WHATSOEVER as if she was not just at death's door, ....so if you think the horizontal birth way is better - I have proof that you can never compare from any horizontal birth EVER.
